# Groups Overview

**Groups** are shared workspaces in SeaTicket that allow teams to organize projects and collaborate together. Each group can contain multiple projects, and all members of a group have access to those projects.

Groups are the foundation for team-based work in SeaTicket. Before creating shared projects, you need a group to contain them.

## What groups give you

Within a group, you can:

* **Organize projects together** — All projects inside a group are accessible to every group member, keeping teamwork in one place.
* **Control access through membership** — Only users who are members of a group can see and work on its projects.
* **Assign roles** — Group members can be assigned the **Admin**, **Member**, or **Owner** role, each with different levels of access and control.
